Amalie Bruun – Crush

by | Sep 2, 2013 | Features

Amalie Bruun stays busy. In addition to fronting Ex Cops with Brian Harding, she models, gets profiled in fashion magazines, acts in commercials directed by Martin Scorsese, AND maintains a solo career as a singer-songwriter.  It’s no wonder she’s so thin. The poor thing doesn’t have time to eat!

Born in Denmark, Amalie came to the US in 2008 and won the New York Songwriters Circle International Award.

A 2012 collaboration with producer Mark Sanders created “Crush,” a shimmering Ode to New Love. If the layered guitars and breathy vocals don’t make you want to go out and fall in love all over again, then you are already dead. Your poor zombified corpse has been feeding on brains when you should have been feeding your Soul.

The “Crush” video was filmed in upstate New York by photographer Kava Gorna. No zombies were harmed during the making of this video.

Amalie’s music is available from iTunes or Amazon.  Or stream-n-share songs from her Myspace page. Don’t be fooled by the rumors that Amalie has a “black metal” secret identity.  This is Good Pop Music.

Bonus Video 1: The Tao of Amalie, featuring the vintage pantsuit that got rave reviews during Ex Cops’ True Hallucinations tour.

Bonus Video 2: See Amalie singing, dancing, styling, and playing keys with Ex Cops at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA to the hip who walk amongst us).  And yes, that’s the same outfit that she’s wearing in the picture at the top of this page.  Maybe she’s too busy to change her clothes!
